Care quality commission (CQC)

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) ensures that all healthcare organisations are meeting national standards set by the Department of Health for patient safety and quality.

It conducts regular inspections, including unannounced or themed visits, of all NHS trusts and publishes the reports so that the public can compare the safety and quality of care in different hospitals in the UK.
