Having a liver transplant is an ordeal for anyone but Beverley Morris had to go through the lifesaving process twice. However, the treatment she received has inspired her to support Addenbrooke's Liver Transplant Association.
Beverley needed emergency treatment when her liver suddenly deteriorated after taking a herbal remedy. Within 10 days of having a transplant Beverley had a second operation due to problems with the first liver. Four years on Beverley wants to give something back to staff at Addenbrooke's who helped. Beverley, 42, said: "I would not be here at all if it wasn't for the fact that they had found a new liver for me twice. "Under the extreme circumstances I was in, Addenbrookes Liver Transplant Association was so supportive."
Beverley, with fellow nurses Anne Harvey and Lesley Stubley, have organised a 60s and 70s disco in Ketton Sports Complex, Stamford, on Saturday, September 6, in aid of Addenbrooke's Liver Transplant Association and Sue Ryder Hospice.
Tickets for the event, which includes a hog roast and silent auction, cost 9, including food. Tickets from Anne on (01780) 721406 or Stamford Arts Centre on (01780) 763203.
