Teenage patients at Addenbrooke's are enjoying dazzling new surroundings.
Young artist Alex Bermingham has been hard at work on D2 children's ward creating a colourful wall mural.
Taking graffiti art as his inspiration, he has painted part of D2's Teenage Room – an area for patients to listen to music, play computer games or just sit back and relax. The final design was formed with the help of patients who emailed feedback to Alex over his initial ideas. Several weeks later, he was ready to come into D2 and get busy with his paint brushes.

Alex, from Bury St Edmunds, is in his final year of university in Birmingham where he studies visual communication.
The 21-year-old said: “It's been a pleasure to do something for Addenbrooke's and I hope I'll get another chance to come back and do some more murals. It's been great to work with the patients who came up with some really interesting ideas."
Alex was brought in by Addenbrooke's Arts, the hospital's arts project.
