Car parking charges - how your money is spent

Parking

The car parks on site at Cambridge University Hospitals do not make a profit; all your money goes straight back into maintaining and improving parking and access facilities including:

  • 24-hour site security, patrols and CCTV

  • maintenance of covered car parks that are well lit and secure

  • ensuring enough parking spaces are available for patients and visitors who really need them

  • maintaining the on-site bus station
(60 buses an hour stop at the hospital)

  • discounted parking tickets

  • patient courtesy bus - helping you get around

  • improving public footpaths and cycle routes

  • providing clear signage and road markings

Why we charge for car parking

We believe NHS money should be spent on treating patients. If we didn't charge for parking, money intended for patient care would have to be used to provide and maintain parking facilities on the site.
