About the ward
R3 consists of the Programmed Investigation Unit (PIU) and an outpatient clinic.
The PIU is a day case facility for neurology patients who require a number of investigations to aid their diagnosis. These may include imaging, neurophysiology and lumbar punctures. Patients may also be admitted for treatments such as intravenous immunoglobulin.
Both Neurology and Neurosurgery hold clinics on R3. In addition, some Neuropsychology and Neurophysiology is undertaken here.
