The Rosie Hospital
Addenbrooke's follows the NHS guidelines about consent to clinical photography and video recording.
You will be asked to sign up to one of three levels of consent - for the pictures to be used just as records, for them to be used also for teaching or - in very rare circumstances - to be used for publication in a medical journal or textbook.
Photographs of patients with cleft lip and palate form an essential part of their records and they are used both as a part of the treatment planning process and to help with audit of the results: surgeons from all the Cleft Centres in the UK meet to compare their results in an audit meeting, and the aesthetic results that have been achieved can only be compared with photographs.
We guarantee that we will only use your clinical photographs in the ways you have signed up to.
You will be given a copy of the consent form you sign to keep for your own records.
