First, Anne Bol, the Audiologist, checks Toby's hearing.

 

The machine she is holding makes a noise and if Toby hears it he looks round to find where the noise is coming from.

 

Anne's assistant is holding a toy to make Toby look straight ahead before the machine noise starts.

 

The test is repeated at different sound levels and frequencies to check the sensitivity of Toby's hearing...
