About the department

The Dermatology Department aims to provide a comprehensive service for the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of dermatological conditions, including improved public education, and the early detection and treatment of skin cancer.

Patients with all types of skin conditions are seen for diagnosis and treatment in the Outpatient Unit. Specialised clinics and combined clinics with colleagues in different departments are also held on a regular basis.

An important minority of dermatology patients with severe skin diseases (such as extensive psoriasis and eczema, serious leg ulceration and bullous disorders) require inpatient treatment in the dedicated inpatient unit.
