Lung function tests are designed to determine how well your lungs are working. The main tests assess the size of your lungs, how efficiently they exchange gases such as oxygen and how fast you can blow the air out.

There are a number of different techniques, which the physiologists in the department will explain to you while you are performing the tests. Basically all of the tests will get you to breathe in and out as much as you can but each test has its own slight difference.
