Six Technicians and 2 trainee technicians maintain 9,000 of the Trust's 11,500 items of diagnostic and therapeutic electro-medical equipment as well as a growing number of items for other local healthcare providers. We carry out more than 2,500 repairs each year.
We provide electronics expertise to those clinicians who are developing new forms of diagnosis or treatment. With the increased use of technology in medicine, specialist advice is needed to develop existing methods of treatment and to construct new devices that are needed for research. In addition, this section maintains 9,000 items of electro-medical equipment for the Trust, carrying out over 2,500 repairs each year.
