Physiotherapy is the fourth largest healthcare profession in the world. It is a clinical speciality that addresses problems with movement, dysfunction and pain. These can arise from musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and chronic disability conditions, or from mental illness and intellectual impairment.

Facilities

The Physiotherapy Department provides services in:

  • The Physiotherapy Outpatient Department, two gymnasium areas and a hydrotherapy pool.

  • An additional gymnasium area in the F & G Gym in the 'R' block area of the hospital.

  • Emergency 'on-call' services for inpatients, which are provided in various parts of the Hospital.

All gymnasiums have appropriate rehabilitation equipment and run regular exercise classes.
