If you need to have a procedure at Addenbrooke's or the Rosie under general anaesthetic (when you are asleep), you will be given a pre-operative assessment appointment.

The purpose of the clinic is to see you in the lead up to your procedure to assess your fitness. In addition it gives you a chance to ask any questions you may have.

This appointment involves:

  • taking a medical history
  • recording current medication
  • height/weight and blood pressure measurements
  • blood tests and a heart trace recording (ECG), if required
