The Rosie Hospital
We are proud to have our own leisure and fitness centre on site. The centre is named after Sir Frank Lee who was vice Chairman of the Board of Governors from 1967 until his death in 1971. During his time in this role he set up a Development Trust with the objectives of financing the provision of recreational facilities for the staff, of improved facilities for patients and their relatives, and the funding of medical research. The Frank Lee Centre was opened in 1973 and its role today is still significant in helping to uphold all five of the Trust’s priorities.
The Frank Lee Leisure & Fitness Centre
The Frank Lee Centre is so much more than a pool and a gym. Staff members are always friendly and helpful and the place is a real social hub with a wide range of facilities enjoyed by more than 5500 members and their families (children are welcome at weekends until 6pm). In addition to the various sports clubs, such as those for running, karate, triathlon and water polo, there is a licensed bar for socialising in a less active way. Membership fees apply.
Staff can also enjoy several leisure and fitness discounts in the local area.
