CUH

The application process

See your future with us

Please see the Volunteering opportunities page to see if there is a role that you are interested in. If you would like to apply to be a volunteer please complete the Enquiry form.

Upon completing the enquiry form you will be sent an enquiry pack which will contain A guide to volunteering at CUH as well as a Frequently Asked Questions sheet for your information. We advise that you read this guide before completing the application form (which is also included in the enquiry pack) to make sure that volunteering is right for you.

Once we have received your completed application form we will check that we have a volunteering role that matches your requirements.  If we do then we will invite you to attend an informal interview in order to assess your suitability for the role of volunteer and to determine the most suitable placement for you. If we have nothing suitable to offer you at the time of applying we will contact you and ask if you would like to be placed on our waiting list.

If you are successful at interview you will be required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check and Occupational Health form. These forms will be issued to you after the interview. Your start date for volunteering will be determined by when we receive these forms back, as well as receiving two valid references. Please note that currently CRB checks take up to 8 weeks to complete.

Whilst the checks are being done we will organise your placement and will send you out a new starters’ pack, which includes a handbook for volunteering at CUH.
