The Rosie Hospital
The Care Quality Commission has been reviewing hospitals' compliance with its standards of dignity and nutrition for older people.
Following an inspection in March 2011, the CQC has published a report which concludes that Addenbrooke's Hospital is compliant and meeting both the essential standards of quality and safety.
This means that Addenbrooke's follows policies and processes that respect the dignity, privacy and independence of people who use its services, that there is a good standard of food, and that staff work to ensure that people's nutrition and hydration needs are fully supported.
The CQC also suggested some minor improvements that could be made in both areas, including more individualised assessment of patients' food and drink preferences, and greater availability of information relating to care and treatment to help patients make their own choices. The Trust is already acting on their helpful feedback to further improve care for patients.
