Former Trust chairman's wife opens Deakin Centre named in his honour
The Deakin Centre was officially opened this week by Daphne Deakin - the wife of former Cambridge University Hospital's Trust chairman Tony who the centre is named in honour of.

Dr Mary Archer
Dr Mary Archer has been reappointed Chairman of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Trust’s Board of Governors voted Dr Archer in to serve a third term during a recent meeting. Her current term ends in October 2009, with her new term running from November 1 2009 to October 31, 2012.
Dr Archer said: “I am honoured that the Board of Governors has voted to reappoint me for a third term as Chairman. Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie offer an outstanding level of care – it is a privilege to represent such talented and dedicated staff.
“This is an exciting time for the Trust as we continue to grow into a world-class centre for healthcare and research. I look forward to the years ahead."
Dr Archer taught chemistry at the University of Cambridge for 10 years before developing a wider portfolio of interests. She became a non-executive director of Addenbrooke’s NHS Trust in 1993, Vice-Chairman of the Trust in 1999 and Chairman in 2002. Dr Archer chairs the Urology Informed Decision-Making Programme for the NHS. She also chairs the UK University Hospital Chairs Group, is a trustee of the UK Stem Cell Foundation and is deputy chairman of Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust
