Changes to the H1 shuttle bus service from 31 July

13 July, 2009

On Friday 31 July 2009 the H1 Shuttle Bus service running from Trumpington Park and Ride to Addenbrooke's Hospital will finish.

From Monday 3 August a Stagecoach bus service will run instead of the H1 shuttle bus.

Important:
If you have purchased a 10 single ride ticket for the H1 shuttle bus service, please make sure that you use all your journeys by 31 July 2009 as tickets will not be transferable to the new Stagecoach service and refunds will not be given.

About the new Stagecoach bus service

From Monday 3 August the new buses will...

  • Run every 20 minutes between Trumpington Park and Ride and Addenbrooke's Hospital.

  • 5 days a week from Monday to Friday.

  • Stagecoach will run this service until the guided busway is completed. The guided bus service will then run on site instead of this service.
  • Two new Stagecoach bio fuel buses will run on this service...they were purchased as part of the guided bus service which is currently being constructed.

  • These buses will be light green and single deckers (the Babraham Park and Ride buses are dark green double deckers).

  • Each of the buses can carry a maximum of 44 passengers.

  • They will both have:
    • leather seats
    • air chill or air conditioning

    • real time information as to when the next bus is due

    • wi-fi to enable passengers to access the web whilst on the move
  • Please note that the stop at Car Park B outside the Oncology Department will be suspended, as the new guided buses will be unable to stop safely here.
    • The closest alternative stop is outside the Outpatients entrance
    • Passengers with limited mobility will be able use our on site courtesy bus between Outpatients and Oncology

Prices

From Monday 3 August the following prices will apply on the new Stagecoach service:

  • Day return ticket from the Park and Ride to Addenbrooke's Hospital - £2.00
(valid for two journeys; one inbound and one outbound).

  • Megarider ticket (7 days of consecutive travel) - £11.00

Concessionary fare pass holders (over 60s) can travel free on the park and ride buses after 09:30, Monday to Friday. Before 09:30 they will be asked to pay the normal fare.

Timetables and routes

  • The first bus each morning will depart from Trumpington park and ride at 06:45.

  • The last bus each evening will depart from the bus stop at outpatients at 19:44.
