New Year honour for Richard Howe
Richard Howe, retired executive director at Cambridge University Hospitals, has been recognised in the New Year honours with an MBE for services to the NHS.
Professor Patrick Sissons, Regius Professor of Physic and Head of the School of Clinical Medicine, has been knighted "for services to research and education in Clinical Medicine".
Six of the Trust's keenest runners took to the starting line in Cambridge on Sunday 20 September for the 2009 Chariots of Fire charity race.
Chairman Mary Archer captained the team, which also includes Jonathon Coles, Jemma Chapman, Gillian Barnett, Ben Smith, Katie Sanders and Stephen Graves.
Chariots of Fire is one of Cambridgeshire's largest annual charity events. The race follows in the footsteps of the Oscar-winning film of the same name, taking its scenic route through the streets and colleges of Cambridge, with teams of six running a 1.7-mile course in relay format.
This year, funds raised will go to a very worthy cause: Cam-mind is the oldest mental health charity in Cambridge, having supported local people experiencing mental health problems since 1908.

The Addenbrooke's team
Chairman, Mary Archer, reports on the team's efforts on Sunday:
"The Chariots of Fire race always seems to have fine weather, and Sunday 20 September was no exception.
"On a beautiful autumn morning, our team of runners, drawn from all quarters of the hospital, were raring to go. This year I was a non-running captain, which greatly improved our team time - we came in a credible 65th out of 224 mixed teams, in a time of 01:14:17.
"Many congratulations to my colleagues Stephen, Gemma, Ben, Gillian, Jonathan and Katie, and please help us to raise a goodly total for Cam-Mind, an excellent local charity that supports people recovering from mental illness."
Congratulations also to The Rosie's mixed team, which finished in a time of 01:18:50.
