About Resource for Change

 

The Resource for Change (RfC) Team provides service improvement expertise to support staff across the Trust to deliver better services, develop new working practices and improve care for patients.


Our work is aligned to the Trust Objectives of building a culture of innovation and excellence in health and care through:

Whether we are working on a small or large scale project our aim is the same - to help and support staff to make significant, beneficial, sustainable changes and improvements in health and care. 

 

Our Vision

 

Resource for Change is an in-house consultancy that provides a structured programme of continuous and sustainable service improvement, to enable the Trust to achieve its corporate and service priorities.

Use a consultancy approach

All parties are aware of their roles and responsibilities in the improvement process

Agree contract as part of the scoping work
Draw on current best practice in service improvement Liaise with national and regional partners to ensure the currency of our work Work with McKinsey's Applied Angle and the Institute of Innovation and Improvement
Utilise proven change management tools Ensure improvement success can be linked to corporate/departmental measures Reduction in LoS, increase in DOSA rates, bed days saved, mortality rates, new to follow up ratios, staff retention etc
We work with the people doing the job Increase the service improvement capabilities of staff Attendance by staff on competency based training in service improvement tools and techniques.  Increase in staff lead initiatives Trust wide

 

Meet the team

 

RfC's greatest asset is our team, a group of people who share the desire 'to make a difference'. Team members have a high standard of expertise and skills so they are able to work with staff in a truly supportive and collaborative style.

 

Service Improvement Consultants provide senior change leadership and process redesign expertise.  Develop capacity and capability to embed service improvement tools and techniques in order to support the continuous modernisation and redesign of traditional services across the Trust.

How we work

 

Whether we are working on a small or large scale project our aim is the same - to help and support staff to make significant, beneficial, sustainable changes and improvements in health and care.

 

For us this means creating strong, supportive and productive relationships with staff so we can:

  • clarify the objectives of a project
  • focus on the desired outcomes
  • make sure the right process is in place to achieve these outcomes and then help to implement the process effectively
  • build Service Improvement teams that function to deliver the work in the most effective way possible
  • work with frontline staff to identify pragmatic solutions that can be implemented and owned by staff
  • work to agreed timescales and budgets
  • transfer capabilities and skills to staff to enable them to initiate, lead and sustain improvements in their everyday work, continuously improving their services to give long term benefits
