The Rosie Hospital
Welcome
These pages are for Addenbrooke's Hospital volunteers, and for those who would like to become volunteers.
Addenbrooke's is part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and is a local hospital, the teaching hospital for the University of Cambridge, a centre for specialist services, and a leader in research and development.
Volunteers at Addenbrooke's Hospital provide an invaluable service, and are a great asset. They help us make life easier for both our patients and their families, by supporting our staff in providing a direct service to patients, or by helping out behind the scenes. Each year, 700 volunteers give up their free time on a regular basis to help patients throughout Addenbrooke's.
What is required from our volunteers?

Working in a hospital can be demanding, both emotionally and in terms of the workload, and as a result our volunteers need to have a high level of commitment to helping others. Please consider this seriously before starting your application process.
All volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment to the hospital of one session a week for at least 8 months - 1 year. Typically, a session is two to four hours.
How to apply
All prospective volunteers need to complete the online enquiry form to receive an application pack, which provides an overview of all the volunteer opportunities available at Addenbrooke's and an application form.
