The Rosie Hospital
This month, 51 nominations were considered for the YMAD award.
Our winners this month are Julie Johnston, a Junior Sister on PSSU, and Jessica Leavens who is a student nurse on ward A3.
Julie Johnston
Julie joined the Trust originally as an HCA and after leaving to raise her young family returned in 1999 to continue her role as an HCA in the Stroke Unit. After taking her NVQ levels 2 and 3 she trained as a staff nurse and once qualified she joined Hepatology. Two years ago she was seconded to PSSU as a Junior Sister, a role which became permanent last year.
Julie's nomination was from patient Janet Johnson who described Julie as a "hardworking, confident and hands-on leader." She says: "She shows a wonderful passion for her job, her patients and her staff. Her attention to me during my three days here was excellent and she gave me all I could ever have needed."
