The Rosie Hospital
This month, 43 nominations were considered for the YMAD award.
Our winners this month are June Waugh, lead nurse in clinic 2A and Diane Payne, senior sister on N3. Many congratulations to both of them as well as to everyone who was nominated in June.
June Waugh
June joined CUH 7 years ago as a Lead Nurse in respiratory medicine, Clinic 2A, after many years working at Brookfields and Chesterton hospitals, mainly in Care for the Elderly. June received her nomination from a patient, who said: "June is a super lady who possesses such warmth. I am thrilled she has won this award because she really did 'make a difference'."

Diane Payne
Diane joined CUH in June 2008 as a Junior Sister on ward F6 and soon became acting Senior Sister. In November 2008, Diane was promoted to the permanent position of Senior Sister where she moved ward F6 into ward N3 and into the new, highly specialised, purpose built respiratory care unit.
Since the You Made a Difference scheme began, Diane has received a total of 4 nominations. She received one nomination from a patient and another from the relative of a patient both of whom commented on the excellent level of care that she provided and the way in which she communicated with them. Diane has also received two nominations from her colleagues. One in particular, sent in by a consultant and also written on behalf of his colleagues, caught the YMD panel's attention, "Diane combines a dynamic personality with outstanding interpersonal skills and a cheerful, efficient managerial style. This is translated through to the effective management of respiratory patients who in turn have a far better experience of their time in hospital."
