There were 56 nominations considered for the You Made a Difference award this month.
The winners were Gianluca Strippoli, porter, and Diane Anstee, chief technician and deputy manager in the clinical neurophysiology department.
Gianluca Strippoli
Gianluca joined CUH in 2005 as a ward assistant before moving to the portering team in 2007.

Luca's nomination was kindly sent in by Carol Sloane, following the emergency admission of her son Glenn, who suffers from Hydrocephalus.
Read by Dr Archer, the nomination said: "Luca is a porter who went out of his way to settle my son on to ward M4. I knew that Glenn would have a difficult night ahead and when I informed Luca of my son's special needs he went around looking for things to keep him entertained in his room.
"Luca could have just delivered my son to the ward and left but he didn't - he took time to show us where to buy TV credit and he looked for some magazines. Thank you Luca, you made such a difference to both me and my son."
Praising the portering team, Simon Lewis, associate director of operational management, said: "It is very rewarding to hear that one of the team has gone the extra mile. Our porters are very busy and under a lot of pressure, but they always have the patients at heart. Well done Luca – I am very pleased to have you on the team."
Dr Archer echoed the sentiment by "saluting the portering team for their pivotal role within the hospital."
On accepting his award, Luca expressed his shock at winning: "I thought I would have gone unnoticed as I am so busy, and I never think about awards or being nominated for them.
"I am just so happy and pleased to have won."
Diane Anstee

Diane joined Addenbrooke's in September 1970 as a trainee neurophysiology technician. Whilst raising a family, she worked part-time in several departments around the Trust, including medical records, ward clerk for ITU and then as a cardiographer.
She returned full time to neurophysiology in June 1989, and in December 2001, took on the role of highly specialist practitioner & deputy department manager.
Diane's nomination came in from consultant Dr Andrew Michell who said: "Diane has worked exceptionally hard, and continually works well beyond what would be expected with very little recognition. She maintains an extremely upbeat temperament and sense of humour despite at times coping with great pressure.
"Diane is unfailingly kind, and frequently opts to wheel patients back to the wards. She frequently stays late to ensure ITU recordings are finished, or to complete inoperative monitoring, where her calm demeanour is especially appreciated.
"From a management perspective, she uses great common sense, prioritises with ease and has great respect from the whole department.
Without Diane's input the department would not be such a happy, well educated and cohesive place to work."
Andrew also referred to a quote from a reference about Diane, written by Peggy Hall (chief technician in the 1980's), who observed: "she is the nicest person I've worked with."
After receiving her award, Diane said: "I am flattered and honoured. I am not good at putting myself forward – I feel like I am just doing my job. All of my colleagues work hard and make it very easy for me.
"Thank you to everyone, you are all very kind."
