This month 66 members of staff were considered for a You Made a Difference award.
The winners were Stephen Bond, junior charge nurse, and Andy Clarke, postal services supervisor.
Stephen Bond
Stephen joined the Trust in 2005 as a newly qualified staff nurse and worked on rotation on the renal unit and transplant until 2007. He was promoted to junior charge nurse in April 2008 and currently works on the transplant unit on both the ward and high dependency areas.

Stephen Bond receives his award from Dr Goodier and Ruth Murphy
Almost a year ago, Stephen was asked to work on D7 for three months as a senior charge nurse and it was while on this ward that Stephen received his You Made a Difference nomination.
Ruth Murphy, director of communications, read out the nomination which came in from the widow of a patient who was in Stephen's care: "Stephen was kind and compassionate and he always treated my husband with care and respect. We knew he gave the best possible care to my husband and indeed he couldn't have been more caring. It was as if he was treating a member of his own family."
Also sending in a contribution was Sarah Randall, senior clinical nurse for transplant and surgery, who said: "Stephen worked really hard to offer support to all members of staff on D7 and quickly adapted to more responsibility. He is always keen to take on new projects and has recently presented at an international transplant conference. Well done Stephen."
Stephen accepted his award from Ruth Murphy and Dr Goodier, expressing that "it is really nice to be recognised. I would like to thank my colleagues and parents for all of their support."
Andy Clarke

Andy Clarke with his colleagues
Andy started with the Trust in 2005 after returning to the UK from Australia, where he had lived and worked for nine years.
He worked as a postal courier for about a year before transferring to the maintenance department in 2006. Four months later he moved back to postal services, where he has taken over the training of new postal staff and the mentoring of work experience placements. He passed his ILM Level 2 in supervision in 2007 and was promoted to postal supervisor later the same year.
Andy is also involved in the continuous improvement strategy which delivers efficiency savings in postal services. He played a large part in the team which won third place in the 2011 'Great Ideas in Action' awards.
Claire Geary, consultant biomedical scientist in the cytology department in Newmarket, nominated Andy for his award. Her nomination read: "Andy was immensely helpful in ensuring that samples reached our department in time for a Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting (MDT). We're based off site and so rely on couriers and transport runs to and from Newmarket. He went out of his way to track down and communicate with the right people for me.
"When I had further problems, he was back to my assistance again in going to communicate on my behalf and making sure the samples got onto the transport run. I have nominated Andy for being willing to sort it out for me even though it was nothing to do with his department and thus supporting cytology in delivering our patient care."
Andy's colleagues described him as "down to earth and friendly, with a personable and warm approach. Andy truly exemplifies the Trust values of kind, safe and excellent."
After winning his award, Andy said: "It is nice that non-clinical staff are being recognised and appreciated. I am really chuffed – thanks to all for nominating me."
