The Cambridge Brain Bank

The Cambridge Brain Bank was established to enable brain tissue to be used after death for research into neurodegenerative disorders such as Dementia (Alzheimer’s, Frontotemportal etc.), Motor Neurone disease, Huntington’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease etc.  The donation of post-mortem brain tissue for research is of fundamental importance to further our understanding of the causes of these disorders and to develop more effective diagnostic tools and treatments for these conditions.

We would like to encourage people with or without neurological conditions to consider donation brain tissue at the time of their death and register with the Cambridge Brain Bank. Normal (control) brains from people without neurological conditions are invaluable in helping find the possible causes of neurological diseases.

The Cambridge Brain Bank is open Monday–Friday 09.00am–5.30pm
