Over £10.8m to support groundbreaking clinical research in Cambridge
CUH has been awarded just over £10.8 million from the National Institute for Health Research to develop new treatments to benefit patients in the East of England.

£110 million health research fund confirms elite biomedical status for CUH
Cambridge University Hospitals and the University of Cambridge have been awarded a record share of an £800 million government research fund, confirming the city’s status as one of the country’s elite Biomedical Research Centres.
Wednesday 28th January 2009, 10am – 3pm in S4, R&D Department (opposite Renal Dialysis and next door to Occupational Health).
Kerstin Castle, Innovation Manager, will be available to talk through your idea with you and answer any questions you may have. Kerstin can also advise on any Intellectual Property issues and explain how NHS Innovations East can help you to protect your idea.
The NHS Innovations Hub for the east of England works with NHS staff to help assess, protect and progress innovative new ideas for healthcare. Ideas can be for medical technology, software or service delivery. Their annual Development Fund is used to investigate and progress ideas (e.g. commissioning prototypes, market research etc).
You can also find out how to enter the 2009 Regional Innovation Competition which has a prize fund c.£20k.
