Brain Tumour research funding

Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust (SDBTT) is pleased to invite applications for a grant round for brain tumour research projects.

Grant applications, peer review and awards will be managed and run through SDBTT’s AMRC-approved grant round process. Funding would be fully eligible for CRSF funding based on current government policy.

Applications are invited for basic science, translational, epidemiological, psycho-social and quality of life and health services research across all types of primary brain tumour. Applications are invited for £40,000 - £215,000 over 1 – 3 years (preferably 3 years), with a maximum of £75,000 available in any one year. Applicants are strongly encouraged to secure matched funding from their institution or other funder towards the proposed project so that together we can increase the total levels of funding for brain tumour research in the UK.

Projects must have a Principal Investigator in the UK, although international collaboration is encouraged. The Principal Investigator must hold an established NHS, academic or research post and be in receipt of a salary for the duration of the award. Individuals may submit a maximum of two applications for which they are the Principal Investigator.

A two stage application process will be used, involving outline and full applications. Grant applications, peer review and awards will be managed and run in accordance with AMRC principles. The submission deadline for outline applications is midnight on Wednesday 7 March 2012.

Further timetable details of the 2012 Grant Round including the research strategy, application forms and Terms and Conditions are available on the SDBTT website where details of other SDBTT funding streams may also be found. All enquiries should be directed to the Research Team at research@sdbtt.co.uk or by phone on 01252 749990.
