Innovation and excellence in health and care

The information on this page applies to those studies sponsored and funded by pharma companies, biotech industry for commercial purposes.

 

Sometimes commercial organisations support work through funding or otherwise that is for public benefit. These projects do not come under commercial research remit and are considered as non-commercial research.

 

The Trust aims to provide R&D approval for commercially sponsored research projects within 35 days of receipt of a valid application. A valid application consists of completed:

  • IRAS R&D form
  • SSIF with required signatures
  • Research protocol
  • All regulatory approvals
  • Version controlled copy of PIS and ICF
  • CV’s of all investigators
  • Draft mCTA and study budget for negotiation

Clinical Trials involving commercial sponsorship have slightly different requirements, mostly concerning contractual issues. If your project has a commercial sponsor, please read our commercial research policy.
