The third in the series of CPD study days for sonographers and other health care professionals involved in the delivery of routine obstetric / gynaecology ultrasound services took place in Cambridge in July. 

 

The aim of these study days is to promote gold standard ultrasound skills by extending clinical knowledge, developing and extending scanning skills, discussing case studies and sharing best practice in a relaxed, friendly and informative environment.

 

This year’s topics included:

  • Multiple pregnancy from conception to delivery
  • Moving on with the FASP Standards - ventriculomegaly, talipes and two vessel cords
  • Impact of maternal infection, drug abuse and alcohol on pregnancy
  • The placenta and the cervix – the Cinderellas of ultrasound?
  • Different perspectives of gynaecology imaging – laparoscopy, ultrasound, elastography and MRI
