The Rosie Extension - July construction update

11 July 2011

Construction has been underway for 30 weeks and excellent progress is being made.  The concrete floor slabs for levels 1, 2 and 3 have now been poured. The creation of the basement link corridor between the Rosie and N/K wards is progressing well, with the majority of the excavations now complete, and a gradual completion of the floor, wall and roof slabs.

Preparations for the structural connections between the extension and the existing Rosie building are underway, with temporary partition walls being formed in two locations on level 3 of the Rosie. Photovoltaic panels will be installed onto the roof of the existing Rosie later this month.

Congratulations to Three Peaks Team!

Well done to the Rosie team that completed the infamous Three Peaks Challenge by climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon all in a row within 24 hours!

Congratulations also to the ‘Snowdon Strollers’ led by the Premrose Parent Support group who hit the heights of Snowdon on Saturday 9 July.

These teams have raised an incredible £16k for the Rosie Hospital Campaign. Well done!
