The Rosie Extension - April construction update

04 May 2011

A dry and sunny April has enabled the construction team to forge ahead on site. Work this month has included:

Excavation for the basement link corridor

A piling rig has been brought in to assist with the excavations for the basement link corridor. Netting has been used to protect the windows on the K and N wards and the Rosie from any debris from the piling rig.

Thank you to everyone for their patience during this work.

Ongoing excavation for the main extension basement and casting of the concrete floor and wall slabs

The concrete pouring is an activity that often requires the contractors to work late into the evening. Please accept our apologies for any disturbance that patients and staff may have experienced this month.

Rosie Extenison building work

Ongoing excavations at the rear of the Rosie (adjacent to the ATC) for the services duct and installation of pipe-work within this duct.

Rosie Extenison building work foundations

Re-surfacing of part of Robinson Way is planned to start week commencing 9 May. This work will even out the road surface where there have been previous excavations to install services.
