The Rosie Extension - October construction update

4 November 2011

Main extension

Construction is progressing well and the project remains on target to complete by the end of June 2012. The structural steel frame for the Pavilion link between the existing Rosie and the extension is now complete. Internal walls are almost finished on all levels and the installation of all mechanical and electrical services is progressing well. External brickwork is complete up to level 2 and excellent progress has been made on installation of the steelwork for the rooftop plant room. Installation of photovoltaic (solar) panels to the existing Rosie roof is also underway.

Existing Rosie Courtyard

Works have started to upgrade the existing Rosie courtyard. A garden design has been developed which will be implemented as a charitable donation from Farrans, our Rosie Extension contractors. The design takes into account the feedback received from staff and includes a central pergola and distinct staff and patient/family seating areas. We apologise for any disruption whilst this work is undertaken but the final garden will hopefully be seen as a benefit to all staff and patients.
