Reducing the cost of childcare

We offer two schemes to help reduce the cost of childcare.

Tax-efficient childcare scheme

Staff members who use the on-site nursery facilities provided by Kidsunlimited may also take advantage of the Trust’s tax-efficient childcare scheme. This allows us to pay the childcare costs on your behalf direct to Kidsunlimited. As this is taken directly from your salary before any deductions, you will pay less in tax and National Insurance (NI) contributions.

For further information and an application form, please contact our Childcare Team on 01223 349 362.

Childcare vouchers

The second option to reduce childcare costs is a childcare voucher scheme and is available to all employees who need to pay for childcare.

You can ‘sacrifice’ a set sum from your salary each month (up to a maximum of £243) to buy childcare vouchers. The sum you spend on childcare vouchers is exempt from tax and NI contributions. The vouchers can then be paid directly to your chosen childcare provider.

The vouchers can be used for any form of Ofsted-registered childcare for children up to the age of 16, including day nurseries, out-of-school clubs, holiday clubs, nannies and childminders.

Tinies provides a comprehensive nanny-screening service and help at every stage of the recruitment process. They can help you with hiring a nanny, asking the right interview questions, nanny background check, contracts and a nanny payroll service, plus information on working tax credit and childcare vouchers.
