Dr Jane Biddle

Public Governor and Deputy Lead Governor

Public Governor - Jane Biddle

I was elected as a Public Governor in July 2017 and re-elected in July 2021 and July 2023 for my final term. I have been the Deputy Lead Governor since 1 December 2021.

One of my goals is to ensure that CUH continues to be a focus of the community. I intend to utilise my professional experience as a science teacher, medical researcher, patent agent and businesswomen who has served on medical institutes and hospital boards within my role as a Governor. Critical appraisal of evidence and communication are two areas I am confident that I can effect change in, and have previously achieved this professionally as well as through community activities.

I have participated in public service through board trustee appointments to non-profit infectious diseases institutes, taught at science outreach programs, contributing member to paediatric research and clinical review panels, formed a woman’s business development support group and developed an infectious disease educational outreach program for senior school students.

I have been responsible for organising events at my children’s schools as well as volunteering at their respective parents’ associations, both as head and as a parent volunteer. In addition, I volunteer at The Cambridge Arts Theatre. On a personal note, my husband and I have enjoyed raising our three children in Cambridge.

In my final term as Public Governor, I hope to continue to address the challenges CUH faces and support their endeavours which in turn would benefit our community. I am honoured to be a part of CUH continuation in being a national and international provider of medical services.
