Chaplain

Reverend Keith Morrison

My current role

I joined the Chaplaincy team at CUH after moving from Suffolk to the Cambridge area in November 2004. In 2013 I became the Chaplain at Arthur Rank Hospice where I also lead the patient and family support team and was elected the president of the Association of Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplains and successfully completed an MA in pastoral theology.

I retired from my full time role at Arthur Rank Hospice in January 23 and as AHPCC President in May of that year. I now work as a Chaplain back at CUH for 2 days a week, and outside of CUH provide Pastoral Supervision.

I am also the Bishop of Ely’s Advisor on Healthcare and Chaplaincy and honorary chaplain to the Goodwood Road Racing Club at Goodwood motorsport events in West Sussex.

Previous history

I was born and educated in London. After school I trained as a maxillofacial technician and worked in a number of London hospitals, and then moved to Ipswich where I worked in Ipswich hospital as Senior-Chief MaxillofacialTechnician for 7 years.

Having been called into the ordained ministry in the Church of England in 1996, I trained at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford. Upon ordination in 2001 I went back to Ipswich as the curate at St. Augustine's church and remained there until November 2004 when I joined the Chaplaincy team at CUH.

I bring with me the experience which comes with having been a clinician and a head of department in the NHS as well as 20 years as a healthcare chaplain.
