Our Staff Bank
What is the Staff Bank?
The Staff Bank works to coordinate and develop additional temporary staffing to support excellent patient care throughout CUH. Staff Bank workers supplement the Trust’s permanent team to provide appropriately skilled cover for planned and unplanned shortfalls in staffing, covering absences and short term vacancies. It supports a range of specialities including Nursing and Midwifery, Allied Health Professionals, Health Care Support workers as well as Administrative and Clerical. Staff Bank workers are required to complete timesheets and are paid weekly.
Approximately 3000 workers are registered to undertake shifts via the Staff Bank. The temporary staffing workforce includes two types of staff: permanent staff who wish to undertake additional shifts via the Staff Bank or ‘Bank only’ workers who choose this flexible working option to fit with their work life balance or to gain insight into areas and specialities as a route into permanent employment.
